Frequently asked questions
How events, tickets, connections, and hosting work. For account or safety help, contact us or report in the app.
Getting started
What is Kingdom Singles?+
Kingdom Singles is a faith-first way for Christian singles to meet at real events in their city. You browse gatherings, check in at the door, and chat only unlocks after two people share a QR connection in person. There is no swiping and no cold messaging.
Who can join?+
Adults 18 and older who want to meet other believers in person. All denominations are welcome. You share your denomination and church on your profile so others know your background, and hosts sometimes organize events for a specific community.
Is there a mobile app?+
Yes. Kingdom Singles is on the web, iOS, and Android. Tickets, door check-in, QR connections, and chat work on every surface. Use whichever is easiest for the event you are attending.
Tickets, refunds, and cancellations
Is Kingdom Singles free?+
Creating an account, browsing events, joining free events, and chatting with your connections is free. Some hosts charge for tickets when an event has real costs such as food or a venue. You pay the face price shown on the event page. In some cities you buy on Eventbrite; in others you pay in the app through Stripe. There is no extra platform fee on top of that face price.
What happens if an event is full?+
You can join the waitlist. If the event uses gender caps, you wait for a seat in your gender bucket — an open seat for the other gender does not move you up. When a paid seat opens, waitlisted members are notified to buy a ticket. Free events promote the longest-waiting member automatically.
Can I get a refund if I leave an event?+
For a self-sold ticket, leaving 48 hours or more before start gets a full refund in the app. Closer than that, the seat is released but the charge is kept unless the host changed when or where after you signed up. Eventbrite tickets are refunded on Eventbrite. You cannot leave after you have checked in. If you abandon in-app checkout before paying, the hold is released and you are not charged.
What if the host changes the time or place?+
A change to start time, end time, venue, address, or city is a material change. Everyone who signed up is notified by push and email. If you registered before that change, you have 7 days to leave for a full refund even inside the usual 48-hour cutoff. After those 7 days, the normal 48-hour rule applies. Title, description, photo, and capacity increases are not material changes.
What if the event is cancelled?+
If a host or admin cancels before the event ends, every registrant is notified. Self-sold tickets are refunded in the app. Eventbrite orders are cancelled and refunded there. Free and waitlisted members still get the notice. An event that has already ended cannot be cancelled to reverse tickets.
Connections and safety
Why can't I message people before an event?+
That is the point. Kingdom Singles is built around meeting in person first. Chat only unlocks after two people share a QR connection at an event, so every conversation starts with a real handshake, not a cold message.
How do check-in and QR connections work?+
Check-in opens 2 hours before start and closes 2 hours after the scheduled end. The host scans your ticket QR at the door. Around the event — from 2 hours before start until 6 hours after it ends — you can share a connection QR. Codes expire in 5 minutes and can be used once. Both people must be checked in to the same event. Hosts are treated as checked in for their own event.
How do you handle safety?+
Every host is reviewed, every event is moderated before it is published, and check-in is controlled at the door. You can block or report anyone in one tap. Reports cover inappropriate messages, fake profiles, harassment, safety concerns, and other issues. Your email and phone are never shared as a dating reveal. For a safety issue at an event, report in the app first — that is the fastest path to moderators.
Hosting
Who can host events?+
Any member in good standing can apply to become a trusted host. Our team reviews every application, and every event is reviewed before it is published. Hosts are typically ministry leaders, church staff, or long-standing community members. Events must be scheduled 21 days to 12 months out.
What happens if I edit an event after it is approved?+
Any edit sends the event back to review. New signups, waitlist joins, and paid checkout stay closed until it is approved again. If the event was already approved once, door check-in and QR connections still work so a last-minute typo does not shut the night down. Price cannot change after anyone has signed up.
Can I change the time or venue close to the event?+
Once anyone has signed up, hosts cannot change when or where — start, end, venue, address, or city — inside 72 hours of start. Admins can still make that change if something must move. A material change notifies every registrant and opens a 7-day full-refund window for people who joined before the change.
How do host fees and payouts work?+
Buyers pay the face price you set ($20–$200). Kingdom Singles keeps 10% from the host payout. Your first paid event waives that commission. Payouts are held until 24 hours after the event ends, and until at least one attendee has checked in. A suspended host, an open report on the host for that event, or a Connect account that cannot receive payouts will hold the transfer.
